If you don’t know who Gary Vaynerchuk is, let me introduce you: Gary is an entrepreneur, social media consultant, wine connoisseur (and salesman), and a big time NY Jets fan. His first book Crush It was a great read. Gary’s core message: find something you love, work hard, then work some more, and you can make a difference. Anyone can.
Now, I’m not a huge fan of trying to translate business principles into ministry all the time – there’s been plenty of that going down for the last few decades with not much to show. But I’m a big fan of Gary – his passion and bluntness are compelling. He posted a video today that many of us in ministry (particularly church planters!) would do well to heed.
If what he’s saying is true in the business world where it all comes down to our effort and a financial bottom line, how much more is this true when we serve the sovereign Lord of creation, by the power of his spirit, with a goal of lives being transformed by the gospel?
