Unhappy Hipsters

Unhappy Hipsters

I’ve been sick since Thursday night with what was diagnosed yesterday as a sinus infection and Strep. My head isn’t super clear right now and I’m doing good to simply be upright and not in bed at this point. All the to say, I’ll be blogging more soon but want to update with two quick things – one serious, one not-so-serious.

First, the serious: I really hope that many of you will stick around. I know the last two posts proved to be fairly controversial – that tends to be the exception, not the norm. I write a lot about my experience of pastoral minsitry, and I’d love to have many of you stick around and join the discussion.

Second, the not-so-serious: There’s been a lot of talk about cool culture and hipsters over the past week here, so I thought I’d pass along a favorite site I recently discovered. It’s called Unhappy Hipsters, and it takes photos from home design magazines like Dwell that feature ultra-modern design… and gives them new captions. Some are good, some are funny, and some are really funny.

Check it out: UnhappyHipsters.com

Thanks so everyone who’s still reading. I’ll be back once the strep is out of my system…

Bill — I’m new to your place; yes because of those ‘last two posts.’ I still remember and love your phrase, “I must have missed that part in the Bible about the sheep shepherding themselves.” (Something like that).

Anyway if you apologize too much and try to make too many people happy you’ll be much less interesting and helpful. I like your take.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    1. Props for both the courage to speak up about the state of things and the humility to post the follow-up. This is why Kaleo’s where I go whenever I’m in H-town.

    2. I hope you get better soon and that Shannon and Mirabelle don’t catch it…
