Tuesday, Feb. 16 Link-A-Thon

Here’s some interesting stuff going on in the circles of the internet I read. Have another great link? Share it in the comments!

Redefining ChristianityBrian McLaren recently released his latest book, A New Kind of Christianity. What many have feared for years has become pretty clear in this new book – what Brian is espousing is not simply a new articulation of the Christian faith, but rather a wholesale departure from historic, Christian orthodoxy. Tim Challies has a great concise review, and Dr. Mike Wittmer is interacting with the content chapter by chapter.

Why Your Work Matters – Michael Horton gives a great lecture on how our vocations intersect the Christian faith. Your work matters!

Classic Biblical Art – Some great images from Gustave Dore depicting scenes from the Bible. Very cool work.

Confessions of a Failing Pastor – A great piece by my friend Matt Redmond (not to be confused with Matt Redman, the worship leader) dealing with a underlying feeling that far more pastors face than we would like to admit (myself included).

State of the Internet - some really nice info graphics that show who is using the internet, how much, when, etc. Very important as you plan an online strategy…

Conquering Your Email Inbox – Quick video from Fast Company on managing the ever-increasing amount of email rolling in.

Google Buzz Kill – Why Google Buzz caused one writer to ditch Google apps altogether.

WHEW-saw your McLaren link and for a second thought you were approving! That’s a great piece by Challies. (The link doesn’t work BTW)

  2. Johnny says:

    Oh, it does, sorry.

Just fixed the link, Johnny. Thanks for the heads up.

I have tried to be sympathetic to McLaren, but his theological trajectory has taken him to a place that is outside the bounds of Nicene Christianity, and his influence over young Christians is a great cause for concern…
